Endow Mississippi is a state tax credit program designed to encourage individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to make lasting investments in their communities through charitable giving.
Created by the Mississippi Legislature in 2019, Endow Mississippi rewards donors who give to permanent endowment funds at qualified community foundations, including CREATE Foundation — helping ensure local causes are supported for generations to come.
Donors are eligible to receive a 25% state tax credit for donations to endowment funds at the CREATE Foundation.
How the Tax Credit Works
- When you make a qualifying gift to an endowment fund at CREATE Foundation, you may be eligible for a 25% Mississippi state income tax credit — a significant incentive that makes giving go further.
- What That Means for You:
- 25% State Tax Credit on your gift
- Potential federal charitable income tax deduction (if you itemize)
- Remaining portion of your gift may still qualify for state charitable deductions
- Minimum gift is $1,000 ($250 tax credit)
- Maximum gift is $500,000 ($125,000 tax credit)
- Endow Mississippi tax credits are limited statewide each year. Once all available credits are claimed, no additional credits can be issued until January 1 of the following year.

The creation of a new endowment fund aligned with your charitable goals - Endowment funds are designed to provide permanent, long-term support for Mississippi communities, generating impact year after year.

- Has an annual grant distribution rate of 5% or less
