KIM GREEN SCHOLARSHIP (for seniors from Corinth and Alcorn County schools who plan to major in education)

To honor the memory of his wife who loved to teach, David Green established this fund for graduating seniors from Corinth and Alcorn County schools who major in Education at a Mississippi college or university. Kim taught for 20 years in the Alcorn County School System.

BENJAMIN AND CORINNE PIERCE SENIOR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP (for graduating Corinth seniors going to a four-year college)

The Benjamin and Corinne Pierce Foundation was established to help improve the quality of life of the people of Alcorn County. It was the desire of the late Ben Pierce, his wife, Corinne, and their children, Benjamin and Mary to set up a permanent charitable vehicle to help Corinth and Alcorn County become an even better place to live. The mission of the Foundation reads as follows:

The Mission of the Benjamin and Corinne Pierce Charitable Foundation is to improve the physical, intellectual, economic and spiritual quality of life for the people in Alcorn County. To accomplish this we are committed to support –

• Programs for At-Risk Children
• Personal Character Development
• Community Improvement Projects
• Economic Development


OWEN B. WHITEHURST SCHOLARSHIP (for seniors in Corinth and Alcorn County School Districts)

Deadline: 03/10/2017
The Owen B. Whitehurst Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by his son, Michael Whitehurst to honor the memory of his father, who was a true example of helping others. One scholarship of $500 will be given annually.

TOM TIMMS SCHOLARSHIP (For seniors in Corinth and Alcorn County School Districts)

Thomas “Tom” Wayne Timms

Tom Timms was a flight paramedic with Air-Evac Lifeteam 58 and paramedic with MRHC for many years.
He was also a member of Farmington Volunteer Fire Department. The Tom Timms Memorial Scholarship was created to honor Tom and his love for the community. He faithfully fulfilled his pledge to preserve life and to disburden those who are suffering, all while he saved countless lives.
